The hospital

REA  Hospital owes its name to the goddess REA of Greek mythology, who was the daughter of the earth goddess Gaia and the sky god Uranus.  Next to Saturn, she defined the flow of things (Rea = the flowing one) and defined in the kingdom of Saturn the motion and succession. Later, she became the goddess of fertility, and she gave birth to the first Olympian Gods: Estia, Dimitra, Hera, Hades, Neptune, and Jupiter.

REA  Hospital was established in 2007 and started its operations in 2010, based on the vision of a group of outstanding physicians, with significant scientific and professional experience.

REA Hospital has joined the list of the best hospitals in the world for the year 2015, also it has received the distinction Preferred Partner Hospital for the year 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, according to the list issued by the Diplomatic Council, which falls within the UN, in cooperation with the international certification body TEMOS.

REA Hospital is certified from Swiss Approval, according to ISO 9001: 2015, for all of its services, with ISO 14001: 2015 for environmental management, as well as HACCP, (ISO 22000:2005) for Catering Services.

At REA Hospital, all surgeries are performed in a modern digital environment and state-of-the-art O.Rs. The conditions and environment of the REA Hospital's O.Rs provide maximum safety for both the physician and the patient.

For the purposes of the EURO2020, 4 spacious and fully equipped O.Rs will be used for the 2 live surgery days, providing the ideal environment for the performing surgeons, surgical assistants, patients and attendees.

Please note that all attendees should bring their scrubs for the live surgery part of the workshop. No personal items should be brought into the O.Rs. Disposal scrubs, masks and gloves will be available in each O.R.




 The hotel

The Athens Marriott hotel is located on the bustling artery of Syngrou Avenue, right next to REA Hospital and opposite the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre and Metropolitan Park, which houses the national Opera and the Library. Enjoy your lunch or dinner at the Made in Athens restaurant with ingredients made from premium Greek products or enjoy a drink at the E&O restaurant and bar overlooking the Acropolis, the Aegean Sea, the Opera. In between activities, stay active at the hotel’s well equipped fitness center or walk to the Stavros Niarchos Park where you can discover jogging and walking paths.
